Extra Elevation Range Shims for Red Dot Sights

The Optic Shim is designed to fit between the red dot and the mounting plate. Made by ADE, this accessory is tailored to provide a solution for certain handguns that require a 1-degree shim for increased elevation range, particularly firearms like the 1911. If you encounter resistance while adjusting the elevation during zeroing, simply insert the shim between the sight and the mount, ensuring the thickest part is positioned at the rear.

Instead of returning a red dot that appears "defective" due to an inability to adjust the illuminated dot high enough for zeroing, the Optic Shim offers a remedy by raising the red dot to the necessary level. Compatible with various optics including Vortex Venom & Viper, Burris Fastfire II & III, Docter Red Dot Sight, Insight, Eotech MRDS, Sightmark minishot, and Meopta, this shim provides a practical solution without the need for replacing the entire red dot.

Additionally, the Optic Shim is suitable for Ade Advanced Optics RD3-006, RD3-009, RD3-011, RD3-012, RD3-013, and RD3-015 models. In some cases, the center screw holes may be slightly off for certain red dots, in which case a simple adjustment by trimming or cutting the hole larger may be necessary. It is important to note that the Optic Shim is not compatible with Trijicon RMR, Shield, Sig Romeo, or Holosun red dots.

The main purpose of the Optic Shim is to address issues faced by users when zeroing their red dot sights. In situations where the elevation screw reaches its maximum point and the illuminated dot still remains too high for proper zeroing, this shim can be used to elevate the optic and adjust the position of the dot accordingly.
